Builder & Architect Interview – 19 Seashell Avenue, Mermaid Beach
July 8 2020
– Hi. I’m Dan Dignum from Dignum Design. I’m a building designer on the coast, and I’ve been so for about 30 odd years. The inspiration behind the design was that it’s functional, practical. Having the patio area and the living area on the north means that we can capture sun in the wintertime, and get some solar energy into the Mermaid Beach home.
It also means that during the summer when the sun’s high, we still got an outdoor area that is private. My favourite part of the home is the living area. It is light, open and airy. You can relate to other people in the home within this area easily. Within the dining area you can talk to them, in the living area or out on the patio. It’s all fully close and central.
– I’m Adam Evans the director of Evbuild. We’re a local building contractor. Luxury housing has been our forte for probably the last three years. We’re only a small team of guys, but every project we do we put our heart and soul into it. We started working closely with the client and the architect probably a good 12 months before the project started. By the time we start onsite, it just makes sure that everything moves in the smoothest possible fashion. In my opinion, it’s perfect for the area. It’s certainly got that beachy vibe.
The quality of the finish, it’s second to none. It’s something that we’re very proud of. With the project, each room was meticulously designed in detail to ensure that there’s form and function. The feature staircase spanning over three levels, the designer kitchen, the bathrooms are just finished to the high standard with beautiful floor to ceiling tiles. Beautiful plunge pool, northern sunlight, it’s just got a wonderful feel to it. Yeah, hopefully, this will end up someone’s forever home.
