THE Gold Coast’s Millionaires’ Row is living up to its name with two beachfront mansions listed for whopping prices in the past month.
The contemporary home at 17 Hedges Avenue, which has an eight-figure asking price, is the latest to hit the market.
It has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a media room, gym, wine cellar as well as panoramic ocean views and will cost buyers an eye-watering $12.5 million.
On a 405sq m corner block, the property offers prospective buyers a prime piece of real estate in Mermaid Beach.
Kollosche agent Eddie Wardale, who is marketing the property with agency principal Michael Kollosche, said it was unlike any other on the illustrious street.
“It’s one of the highest quality finished properties you’ll find on Hedges Ave,” he said.
“The biggest thing apart from the quality is that it’s a very spacious home that can accommodate a family.
“Most homes on the beachfront are restricted to three to four bedrooms.”
He said the owners had completely rebuilt the home since buying it in 2014 and spared no expense in its restoration.
“The owners have sourced all the materials from Italy,” he said.
“They’ve rebuilt that whole property.”
It comes weeks after another Hedges Avenue property at No. 111 was listed with a $9.95 million price.
The six-bedroom property, which is known as Little Dune, belongs to Queensland shop-fitting industry figure Scott Headland.
The two-storey home features an 18m lap pool, spa, gym, home office, kids’ retreat and a bar and has 19m of beach frontage.
Marketing agent Luke Henderson, of John Henderson Professionals Mermaid Beach, said when the property was listed that it wasn’t likely to last long on the market.
“Properties like Little Dune come onto the market infrequently and there are always savvy buyers sitting on the sidelines waiting to snap up beachfront homes like this one,’’ he said.
“With real estate, the truism is that it is all about location, location, location and being able to buy a large property on the absolute beachfront at Mermaid Beach … is as good as it gets.”
