Sydney-based developer Sammut Group is pursuing its next Queensland project buoyed by the success of its Gold Coast debut, COAST, which has officially topped out on the beachfront at Surfers Paradise.

The achievement was celebrated onsite at the $387 million development on Garfield Terrace, where 54 luxury residences and resort-style amenities across 38 levels are on track for delivery in the final quarter of this year.

Sammut Director Allen Sammut said reaching this stage at the group’s first Queensland project carried both professional and personal significance for the family business.

“COAST has been an incredible journey for our family and our business,” Mr Sammut said.

“Every time I visit the site, I’m reminded of how far we’ve come and the leap of faith we took when we first identified the site on Garfield Terrace as the right opportunity.

Multiplex Regional Managing Director Michael Sinclair said the topping out reflected the strength of the partnership behind the landmark development.

The topping out milestone comes as Sammut Group expands its Queensland footprint, with approval now granted for the developer’s first Brisbane project, a 15-storey plus rooftop luxury apartment tower comprising 42 homes on a 1,371sqm riverfront site in Toowong.

Sammut Director Julian Sammut confirmed the group was also actively exploring further opportunities across South East Queensland.

“The local market has matured enormously over the past few years and that continues to attract buyers seeking premium beachfront living,” he said.

“We’re seeing solid demand from downsizers and interstate buyers, with many increasingly viewing Queensland as a safe haven lifestyle destination.

“The response to COAST has given us a lot of confidence and we’re actively looking at further opportunities across the south east.”

Priced from $6,950,000, only a handful of opportunities remain for sale at COAST, with a fully fitted display apartment now open by appointment.

Selling Principal and Managing Director of Kollosche, Michael Kollosche, said the combination of an absolute beachfront position and construction progress resonated strongly with buyers.
