The Gold Coast Most Sought-After Suburbs for Interstate Buyers
December 10 2021
As Christmas draws closer, interstate travellers will be returning once more to the Gold Coast for the holiday season.
We have seen a rise in interstate migration to the coast throughout the year and expect to see this trend continue into the beginning of 2022, with recent data from REA showcasing the three Gold Coast suburbs at the top of the list for interstate buyers.
Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads and Broadbeach are the top three most searched suburbs for buyers outside of Queensland.
These popular coastal suburbs have seen a surge in popularity over the last year, with the state seeing the greatest number of interstate migrants since 1996.
In the past 12 months, 74 percent of Queensland housing searches from interstate were made up of prospective buyers from NSW and Victoria, while 18 percent of the total search activity for Queensland came from NSW.
Many other Gold Coast suburbs have seen a rise in popularity, with the 10 most searched suburbs on the coast as follows:
1. Surfers Paradise
2. Broadbeach
3. Burleigh Heads
4. Coolangatta
5. Southport
6. Palm Beach
7. Hope Island
8. Robina
9. Helensvale
10. Coomera
