Buyers are still favouring new-build or recently renovated properties over renovation projects, despite issues plaguing the building industry easing.
Turn-key Homes Still Trump Buyers’ Wishlists

Turn-key properties continue to hold favour among buyers who increasingly want to walk in and immediately start enjoying the lifestyle on offer.

The trend has gathered pace since the pandemic, when the construction industry became beset with problems as the cost of materials and labour soared and reputable builders became difficult to secure.

While these issues have begun to ease, buyers’ mindsets have shifted towards acquiring new-build or already renovated homes, where any required work is minimal and the level of upkeep low.

This trend is particularly evident in the apartment sector where demand for stock in new-build and boutique developments has increased and in many suburbs price growth has superseded that of freestanding homes over the past 12 months.
