What a Difference a Day Makes
April 12 2024
The first week of April has been a momentous one for Kollosche and its clients, with the agency securing $47,120,000 at auctions in less than 24 hours.
Nine auctions were held on Friday, with three properties – 75-81 Stanhill Drive on Chevron Island, 2 Surf Street in Mermaid Beach and 175 Jefferson Lane in Palm Beach – making up $36,500,000 of the total sales.
A Hamptons-inspired home on the beachfront at Palm Beach kicked off the action with three bidders vying for the multi-level home marketed by southern beaches specialist Troy Dowker. The hammer came down at $10,000,000, which is the highest price paid per square metre for a property along the absolute beachfront strip.
Further north, 13 registered bidders gathered on Surf Street in central Mermaid Beach for a chance to secure a rare north-facing absolute beachfront parcel in the blue-ship suburb, marketed through Kollosche principal Michael Kollosche and agent Harry Kakavas. Occupied by an original block of four apartments, the parcel offered excellent development potential. After a widespread print and digital media campaign, the parcel sold under the hammer for $11,500,000.
Finishing off a bumper day, a large crowd congregated at twilight to watch a single-level residence in a prime waterfront position on Chevron Island go under the hammer. Marketed by Michael and Harry using a targeted media campaign, bidding on the triple parcel and accompanying trophy home opened at $8,800,000 before swiftly pushing up to $14,000,000. After some negotiation, the sale went through at $15,000,000, setting a record for the waterfront enclave of Chevron Island.
Further auction sales were made in Carrara, Miami and Tugun. The results are a testament to what can be achieved when the right agency is chosen to deliver a targeted marketing campaign.
